JUSSI NIVA Ten oil paintings on plywood from 1999 and this year are exhibited in the opening exhibition of Ama Gallery. Niva's most recent paintings are probably more paintings than ever with visible brush strokes and richness of paint. The light is an essential part of the works and it is caught extraordinarily by the bent wooden surface covered with several layers of paint. The pride of the gallery is a site specific work made by Jussi Niva just before the gallery opening, a silvery painting which makes the light flow from upstairs through a "floor window" to downstairs like a water fall.
