PENTTI KASKIPURO

Pentti Kaskipuro (born 1930 in Helsinki) is one of the most appreciated and awarded graphic artists in Finland. Kaskipuro's still lifes with swedes, onions, leeks, mushrooms, breads and sausages have become familiar to everyman in Finland. His favourite colour is black and favourite technique drypoint, which he often combines with aquatint.

Practically a self-taught artist, he has exhibited all over the world after his debute 1953 in Helsinki. His graphics belong to numerous museum and private collections. He worked as a teacher at the University of Applied arts in Helsinki 1965-1974 and became an appreciated and adored master for a generation of Finnish printmakers. Kaskipuro lives and works in Vantaa.
