RITVA KOVALAINEN

"The theme that has always engaged me is nature. It has pushed and provoked me to work upon the essence of tone, colour and composition. It has made me find out innovations which might not seem too obvious to a viewer but which have great significance to myself."

Ritva Kovalainen (b. 1959) lives and works on the island of Kemiö on the south coast of Finland. She graduated at the Department of Photography, University of Art and Design in Helsinki 1990.
